Conclusion to target audience

From the research into my target audience and the question and answer I can confirm my target audience is correct. The song/music video I am using/creating could potentially be well liked by the fans of the band, fans of the genre, and fans of similar styles/bands.
From my research I have also decided to add a performance basis into my song in some parts of the video, since alot of the songs/bands who play music in the style of alternate/indie rock have performance in their songs.

Question and Answer - Target Audience

I interviewed Joe Shearwood, a 19 year old male who enjoys this genre of music.  I asked him a series of questions about my chosen genre. These are the questions and Answers

1. My chosen genre is alternate rock / indie rock, would you say you enjoy this music?
   
   Yes, the songs from this genre are always good, better than alot of the music in the charts you here today.
2. The audience of this genre are mostly male and are of an age ranging from 16 - 30 would you agree with this?
   
   Well, the genre of music is widely listened to so perhaps an older generation from 40 - 50 listens to it too.
3. Are there any particular bands you like?
   
   Yeah loads, muse, greenday, blink 182 etc
4. The song "friends" by Band Of Skulls (listened to) would you agree this fits the genre?
   
   Yes the song is nice and upbeat.
5. Would you believe this song would have performance when compared to other songs that fit the genre?
   
   Well alot of songs in the genre have performance so maybe.
6. Are their any other bands you like or genre's?
   
   Yeah stuff like techno, dubstep, rap, house music, dance etc.

My chosen target audience

My chosen target audience is of mostly male gender in the ABC social class who enjoy reading magazines such as Kerrang! and Q. They also enjoy listening to not only alternative/indie rock but like listening to pop rock etc.

I have researched into my potential target audience and I have used information from Bauer Media to support my target audience. I believe my audience will range from an age of 16-40 and will consist of both female and male audience and also of a social class of ABC.

After researching, my target audience is mostly male and are all ABC social class. The age of my audience ranges from 15-35 years old.

The use of darker colours may appeal to a male audience and alot of the singers / band members on the websites front page are mostly men which could appeal to both female and male.

The use of younger males on the cover also appeal to a younger audience. Alot of the music showcased in kerrang magazine is similar to the trends that are running now. Such as bands like You me at six, Green Day and Biffy Clyro who are all iconic bands.

But also the use of the band Metallica on the cover may also appeal to an older audience.
